Goings Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 16, 2026

No one under 13 may use Goings. If you’re under 18, you may use Goings only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Goings is for real events and real people. These guidelines set out what we ask of everyone who uses Goings, and how we act when those expectations aren’t met. They summarize the community rules in our Terms of Service, which are the full agreement between you and us, together with our Privacy Policy. If anything here reads differently from the Terms, the Terms apply.

1. Be where you say you are

Links are for the people who are actually there. To join a Link or post in it, you need to be within three miles of it, and we check your approximate location to enforce that.

  • Don’t fake or hide your location, or use a tool to spoof it.
  • Don’t let someone else post from your account.
  • Give us your real birthday, keep your password private, and have only one account.

2. Respect people

Don’t use Goings to post, share or do any of the following:

  • Harassment, bullying, hate, or threats of violence, including encouraging someone to hurt themselves.
  • Pretending to be another person, business or organization.

3. Protect other people’s privacy

  • Don’t share other people’s private information, including where someone lives or is right now, without their say-so.
  • Before you post a photo or video of someone, make sure they’re fine with it. Be especially careful with people under 18.

4. Keep it safe and legal

  • Nothing illegal, and nothing that encourages illegal activity.
  • No violence, dangerous stunts or gatherings that put people at risk.
  • No selling or promoting illegal goods or services.

5. No sexual content

We have zero tolerance for sexual content involving anyone under 18. We remove it and report it to the authorities. Don’t post sexual or pornographic content at all.

6. Keep Links honest

No spam, no scams, and no fake Links that mislead people about what’s happening or where.

7. Don’t misuse Goings

No viruses, scraping or automated account creation, and nothing meant to disrupt Goings or get around our safety features.

8. Post what’s yours to post

What you post is yours, and you’re responsible for it. Only post what you have the right to share, and nothing that breaks the law or anyone else’s rights.

9. Meeting people in person

Goings helps you find real events and the people around them. We don’t organize, host, supervise or check the events, venues or the people who attend. A verified mark means we reviewed a request from that account; it isn’t an endorsement, and it doesn’t make an event safe.

  • Meet in public places.
  • Tell a friend where you’re going.
  • Leave if something feels off.
  • Follow the law and the venue’s rules.
  • Never use your phone while driving.

10. Reporting and blocking

You can report people, posts, comments, messages and Links from the menu, and you can block anyone. Reports are reviewed by our staff. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

11. How we enforce these guidelines

When we think these rules have been broken or someone could be harmed, we can remove content, limit features, suspend or ban accounts, or end a Link. We may do it without notice when safety requires it. We may share information with law enforcement or others when the law requires it, or to respond to an emergency.

12. If you think we got it wrong

Email us at [email protected] and we’ll take another look.
